Culture & Discovery
Anciently known as Dilmun, officially known as The Kingdom of Bahrain, the two main islands are Manama (the largest) and Al Muharraq, which are linked to each other and to Saudi Arabia by causeway. Flat and sandy, with a few low hills, Bahrain has a hot, humid climate. For many centuries Bahrain has been famous for its pearls and before the discovery of oil, pearl diving was the main source of income and the foundation for many of the communities on the island.
Bahrain offers many diverse opportunities and activities for its visitors; from dolphin watching and shopping trips, to visiting the Bahrain International Circuit and ancient historical sites and museums.
