Active marine agents
Sea air, vivifying and bracing, is reputed for its anti-stress and revitalizing action.
Sea-water provides a three-way action that works wonders for our health. It contains almost a hundred mineral salts (Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium…) and trace elements (Zinc, Iron, Fluorine, Iodine...) that are vital to the organism. The lift you get from sea-water facilitates body movement and soothes the joints. Last but not least, heated sea-water helps to regulate the blood flow and procures relaxation.
Sea-plants are real concentrates of minerals and trace elements. When applied to the body, warm wraps of sea-plants give pure moments of relaxation.
Our therapy programmes are prepared with our thalassotherapy experts according to your needs and subject to availability.
Culture & Discovery
Formerly known as Mogador under Portuguese rule, Essaouira is a surprising sight to visitors with its white-washed facades and azure blue doors and windows. The town is a non-stop discovery of history and of the rich heritage of the Medina, now listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
The long and beautiful fine sandy beach stretches for almost 10 km as far as the dunes of Cap Sim. It gives a scenic view of the town and the Purpuraires islands of which Mogador is a part. All year round, or almost, surfers flock here to enjoy the waves and a beautifully mild climate.
Discover the riches of the region in the vicinity of our Thalassa Essaouira site.
The Marine Gate built in 1769 and the port of Essaouira. Notice the buzz that greets the boats as they arrive with their cargo of fish, which is sold off by auction on the quays. Some of the other quays have been converted into a shipyard where you can admire some authentic boats from the region.
The Isle of Mogador. The island can be admired from the beach or by boat. This former Portuguese fortress, built to protect Essaouira from invasions, is today a wildlife reserve and habitat to Eleonore falcons.
The dunes of Cap Sim. Majestic dunes overlooked by an early-century lighthouse. A walk along the beach or on mountain bikes or quad as far as Diabat, a small Berber village.
The tomb of Moulay Bouzertkoun. At the end of stony track, the dazzlingly white tomb and adjacent mosque are perched on a rugged strand next to a simple fishermen’s village. This very spiritual site is one of the traditional stop-offs on the famous Regraga pilgrimage. Also enjoy guided tours organized by the site (with supplement) including visits to an Argan oil cooperative, the vineyard of “Domaine de Val d’Argan” or the workshops of Meskala (the farm of M. Khoubbane) which produce goats, fresh cheese and organic vegetables…
Sport comes naturally
The Club Mistral near the hotel features a number of activities with paid supplement: windsurfing, surfing, body-surfing (all supervised by a sports monitor).
You can also enjoy hiking, sea outings, guided tours ridings quads, horses or camels.
